Dr Brian DP O’Neill

Dr Brian DP O’Neill is a Consultant Radiation Oncologist at St Luke’s and Beaumont Hospitals, where his specialist interests are Gastrointestinal and Genitourinary Radiation Oncology. Dr O’Neill is the National Lead for GastroIntestinal Radiation Oncology and an Author of the National Cancer Control Programme clinical guidelines for upper and lower GastroIntestinal cancers. Dr O’Neill is the Chief Investigator of an Irish Cooperative Oncology Research Group (ICORG) randomised rectal cancer study, which will recruit almost 300 patients. This trial will investigate if a new Radiotherapy technology, ‘RAPIDARC’ can reduce bowel and bladder toxicity for patients undergoing preoperative chemoradiotherapy for rectal cancer. Dr O’Neill is a Radiotherapy Lead for an Irish Cooperative Oncology Research Group (ICORG) randomised oesophageal cancer study, which will recruit over 350 patients in Ireland and Europe.
